Creative Idea to Maximize Dinner Party Seating

My first Thanksgiving in my new home, I found myself hosting 17 guests for our sitdown turkey dinner. My small dining room included a 6-seat dining set - definitely not enough space for everyone. My mother and I started brainstorming solutions and landed on bringing in some super sturdy folding tables and benches to use alongside my dining table.

We purchased some table cloths (Amazon) and put simple table scapes (Amazon) to downplay the discrepency in furniture. We put our younger folks on the folding benches and older folks in the more comforable and supportive dining chairs. We ended up having 13 guests in one room and a kids table just off the dining room in the kitchen. I was so glad we were able to all gather together and with the decorative accents (Amazon) the room looked just as I had hoped.
