Welcome to The East Coast Hostess

Growing up my mother built a home that was the central gathering point for our family and friends. Our door was always open and we hosted for every holiday. When my husband and I bought our home a little over a year ago, we chose a house with an in-law apartment so my parents could live with us and help with our two little girls (it literally takes a village). It was bittersweet when we sold my childhood home - 40 years of memories! As we turn our house into a home I'm constantly finding ways to create new memories for our family and friends. Join me here for all my tips and tricks for hosting at home including recipes, home decor, and clever ways to add personal details to the gatherings. Looking forward to sharing more and engaging with you!

Benefits to Hosting a More the Merrier Gathering at Home

Hosting "more the merrier" gatherings, where you invite a large group of family and friends to your home, can offer several benefits. These gatherings are typically include a diverse mix of guests, which can create a dynamic and festive atmosphere. Plus you avoid unnecessary drama by excluding some people and not others - trust me, the memories are much sweeter this way.

  • Increased Social Interaction: Including people from all areas of your life in gatherings provides an opportunity for people to meet and interact with a broader range of individuals. This can lead to new friendships, networking opportunities, and the chance to connect with people from various backgrounds and experiences.

  • Enhanced Celebration Atmosphere: The energy and enthusiasm of a larger group can create an electric and celebratory atmosphere. The more people, the more potential for laughter, dancing, and shared joy.

  • Strengthened Community and Bonds: Hosting larger gatherings can strengthen bonds within a community or social circle. People feel a stronger sense of belonging when they see the breadth of their social network and connected to those important to you.

  • Shared Responsibilities: In larger gatherings, you can delegate tasks and responsibilities more effectively. This can reduce the burden on the hostess and ensure that various aspects of the event run smoothly.

  • Long-Lasting Memories: Gatherings in your home with friends, family, even friends of friends, often result in unforgettable memories, as the shared experiences and connections can leave a lasting impact on both you and your guests.
